chill bro

My perk during lectures = kopi-o and chicken risole from dileys.

chicken risole is nice..but i still think it'll do better without the peas. it's smt like a chicken pie...with a deep fried layer ard it. kopi o is gd..esp when u're feeling kinda sleepy, but the hot drinks at dileys are hot.real hot..must be careful when drinking or carrying them. other favourites are crocket, sardine puffs, char siew paolo, sponge cake.

Weekends are here..but the feeling ain't here. Feels like a regular weekday. need to settle my C1 lab asap, b4 starting on other issues. there seems to be many things on my mind nowadays. tired. would really love a 1 day break. simply sleep it off...pack my room, eat nice food, do stuff i like. that would be so much appreciated.

Went shopping at bras basah tdy. 2 hrs shopping. jack's place student's meal ain't a gd deal. pay $7.50 to get ur stomach half full. i think it's more worthwhile to invest in a steak..enjoy the taste and get full..tho it could cost quite abit more.

looking back at my army photos earlier when i was tidying up a shelf. saw my jc, sec sch photos as well. suddenly struck me abt the irreversibility of time...man~ time has gone by by this much and it's never turning back.appreciating what we're going thru now should be the way...my resolution is to cherish every circumstance i'm in now, becoz i'll never have the chance to go through it again when it passes.

sleepy...even tho i took a nap in the evening.lol. wkrz on weekends r pretty cool..on my way home earlier, caught up a little with the orchard crowd. miss the nightlife, hanging out chilling, relaxing with nothing on ur mind.i guess i really miss the hols. new ones coming..time check, 1 month and few days to new jersey. hang on bro.

monster set.

Mike Portnoy's monster set

Is this cool or is this cool?
ok i admit it's def too much for me...only mikey can handle it. if i were to play it'll be like biting off more than i can chew. this is his playground...his 2 hands,2 legs, this monster set. he works the greatest beats.this is where i get my inspiration to keep learning.

right now..in cosy track pants, t shirt, hot green tea..running my fingers thru my fluffy hair. the aunty seemed to have cut alot earlier...was quite amazed when all the hair kept faling past my face...feeling gd wif short hair now. comfy...econonomical (save shampoo), and funkier.lol. btw i think i made her day. cos she asked me how old she looked. i gave her my frank opinion of 24. then all of a sudden her whole face lightened up. i seriously am not joking..i swear it got brighter. (for an instant i thought it was abit spooky). ok anyway to cut the story short, she's 36. really no traces of it. and i'm NOT trying to curry favour aunty..i told her to ask km,and he said 27 i think. yes..she really looks young.

listening to the KDM soundtrack now. peaceful.really don't feel like opening my books.haha

fluffy little boys jumping on beds and a pretty pic of xiaohong

  • a giant strawberry cake
  • 2 fluffy and overweight cousins jumping on me
  • a million reminders to eat more eat more eat more
  • realising my sec2 cousin is taller than me
  • superb bbq chillied chicken wings <-- this,i'm telling u,is heavenly
  • putting 8 large candles and 4 small ones

these r some of the things that come to mind when i close my eyes and recollect that bday party i jus went to..my granddad's one. nice to have the family ard..everybody relaxed..kids livening up the atmosphere, lots of good food and drinks. place is abit small..but it promotes cohesion at least. a nice time of togetherness i must say.

took a gd look at my granddad and i realise he doesn't look his age. 84..but he still manages that cheeky grin..wif a whole headful of hair. doesn't look sleepy like most old men do..and has a hearty smile. the only sad thing is we don't really communicate much, cos he's only able to speak foochow now..which i know nuts abt. in my younger days we used to converse in mandrain..but i think he has forgotten it over the yrs. grandma looks young too..no white hair. (asked her if she dyed it black and the answer was no).

here you go..pretty xiaohong.
eugene's. our faithful little transporter from sch to clementi mrt (if eugene is willing to of cos).
don't you think xiaohong is a name that suits this car perfectly? xiaohong sounds cute..this car is cute. xiaohong is red.this car is red.xiaohong is small, and so is the car. and it looks like a xiaohong-ish kind of car don't u think?i mean..if i were to ask u to name this car, it will be xiaohong definitely rite?

Car of Eugene Ow
loved by the fab4

had the pleasure of driving it once..wif genie's consent of cos. the pedals are cute..they are mini..which means u can use ur big toe to accelebrate, clutch and break. gearstick is cute too..everything is miniature. it travels ard with a proud vroom vroom...turning heads pretty often. sturdy...easy to park..and most importantly : CUTE.

monday is looming up..the thing on my mind now is structural design lab report. clueless. need to find lecturer for consultation tmr.

my resolution for the week : chill, let go & let god. faith & chill

3 engineering undergrads + chick foldover + 9 hrs straight = cpm labwork

cannot la..tdy overly chao-bia already. really felt like a nerd when i was leaving school. basically reached there at 8.30 and ploughed in the comp lab without moving my ass all the way till 6pm. needed to pee at abt 2pm but i was too engrossed in work dat i 4got abt it. at 4pm it was really urgent liao, was making my way out but km discovered an error in our lab report and we immediately jumped str8 into rectifying it. 5pm..cannot liao..made my way cautiously to the toilet..felt gd.

all this jus for 1 cpm lab..mind boggling work.worse, it's unhealthy.bad for bladder and brain, bad for eyes bad for backside. glad we 3 (sundeep,km and myself) managed to finish it. never wanna look back at it liao.
just had dinner..feeling somewhat groggy..so thought i'll theraphize myself by blogging. let the tired energy flow out. right now..i'm sitting in a totally relaxed position..shorts,iced tea,"don't blame it on the boogie"(michael jackson),pillow under my sore buutt, tv on. chill.love it. after this going 4 a run tho..took a week off cos of my blisters on my feet, and now it's time to go back to some action.

haha its funny.i'm trying to think of things i did tdy that i could put in my blog but all that comes to mind is my silly lab. formwork for lower wall 1, fabrication of reinforcements for top wall 2, slab surface area, curring, strip n clean, float blah blah. ok this is insane. time to get it away.

think it's abt time i upload some pictures. when i'm old and when i read my blog..i'll be more interested in pictures than words i guess. a picture paints a thousand words. besides if i have poor eyesight then, reading will be a chore.

oh i shall upload my little gd fren xiaohong. xiaohong is cute...really cute, and she has gd stamina..can take up to 4 guys at 1 go. alot of guys stare at her wherever she goes..i'm telling u..dats a truth.even gals stare at her too. even thought she is eugene's, we still hang out together once in awhile. really look 4ward to seeing her everyday..i'll upload her pretty pic soon.

cheers to the weekends!

nothing beats momma bringing u a cup of homemade water chestnut drink

the heat is on, big time. weather is abit cranky tho..i've noticed it can be cloudy and gloomy, and the next min it can be sunshiny n cheery again. better drink more fluids, and take care of ur health. Love it when mom knocks on the door and says "diiiii....waterchestnut waterrrrr...nahhh" (di is becoz i'm the younger of the 2 boys). she's cute.

cpm lab. met up for a crazy session tdy.i won't say it's unproductive, but it's somehow sleep-inducing~serious. felt abit sleepy in the nice cold room...all bundled up in my warm jacket. lol~ but yes..we made some progress..and we're likely to finish it ip and do a gd job (i hope).

things i need to buy for new jersey

1) a super cool and funky pair of shades
2) khaki berms and pants (requirement)
3) more boxers
4) a gd pair of running shoes (even tho my army asics have served me well, they're seriously ancient)
5) jeans..maybe 1 more gd pair

dats abt all i can think of now..i guess the rest will keep on flowing in as time moves on.

the boys went to play soccer tdy...just got a call from them..they're eating at holland v. would have loved to go 4 another workout tdy wif them, cept that i to rush off after sch. nvm..next tue...court has been booked. looking 4ward to it.

y r there so many mosquitoes??doesn't feel right...even in my air conditioned room..i keep seeing these lil buggers flying ard. smt abt my estate i guess...pretty much increased in number of these lil buggers recently.

do u ever have the feeling u have so much work to accomplish u don't know where to begin?

a flood of fond old memories, the blisters that never have time to heal & my structural test

"ankle socks ain't gd for soccer."

a lesson i learnt in sec2, a piece of advice i've given...but didn't heed myself last week. played at src with the boys..developed 2 huge blisters on each foot, which makes me hobble as i make my way ard, looking abit penguinish. just when it showed signs of healing, i cleverly went to play badminton from 3-6 yesterday. even tho i took caution to wear thicker n nerdier socks this time round, it still didn't work out, and i'm hobbling ard like a more retarded penguin tdy.

despite the hobbling, i managed to catch up wif adeline last night. was really shagged after sch n cos i din sleep well last night (tks mosquitoe), but it was still a really nice time. picked her up from mandrain hotel and we went to ps for starbucks. we had a gr8 chat..catching up on the lost time.10 yrs to be precise.my gdness..thats a decade..! *whistle* some things can't be denied anymore...like the fact that we're ageing wif grace.lol. 10 yrs!

man...okok anyway, drove her back home and we chatted at her void deck..and she decided to go home to show me some of the letters i wrote her in our younger days. hahah..that was like when i was 14?sec2 lil boy... i saw a card with my neoprint in it.haha..hmm..somehow after dat night there always this lingering sense of familiarity abt our younger days dat stayed with me. when we were out chatting for awhile it almost felt we were transported back 10 yrs earlier...joking over the same old jokes..seeing her smile n all. a very nice old fragment of memory..which will stay. i'm thankful to have this very nice gal ard. wish her all the best in her many many yrs of studying ahead...phd and then medical degree.

structural design test: why why whyyyyyy
didn't find it too hard..in fact the concepts tested were really ok. BUT...i didn't print out the corrected example, which was uploaded few days only after the notes was out. Not being a pro-ivle kind of guy, i didn't notice the corrected example. as a result i copied the wrong example during my test (open bk). abit disappointing..prob cos it's those kind of test which u know whats going on but u oso know u can't score.

my water sci test was really funny. guess i'm ok wif my marks..but i totally blew my first question cos of misreading of instructions. anyway dats not really worth typing out..abit too stupid.lol

erm i found my spice girls cd. tucked away among my files. 2 become 1 is currently being played as i'm typing this out. dats like a song i was hearing a decade ago?during my sec sch days...they're pretty funky, seriously..used to think baby emma was cute.esp in her mtvs. "yooo say what u wan what u really really want" haha.

i wanna find mike portnoy in usa when i get there this may...watched a dream theatre live japan performance dvd couple months back..his monster set is amazing. at least 20 cymbals...double base drum, and he has all the makings of a cool drummer -->simply bo charp, marches to his own beat, and yet at the same time, a team player.wow

food 4 thought : erase your hurts

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE."
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one, who had been slapped, got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After the friend recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE."
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"
The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

thought of the day:
WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF WE ALL R ABLE TO WRITE OUR HURTS IN THE SAND(MAKE THEM TEMPORAL), AND TO CARVE OUR BENEFITS IN STONE(MAKE THEM PERMANENT)

soccer + delicious beef noodles = love

had a really sleepy day..ploughed thru the few lectures, went for sea tutorial : of which i had absolutely no mood to say much. went str8 for soccer after dat. had a few gd games with the boys..only problem is..i'm frigging shagged, blistered and bruised. lower back is in pain, calves are still aching from the long run at macritchie, 3 blisters on each foot, discovered a bruise on my shoulder from the stupied old recruit. eyelids closing too & hungry.

the setup

lehtal combi of geeko at work in strabucks. mp3 player, textbk, latte. a gd combination for a gd geeky geek-out.

Well, i sure am glad 4 this blogging theraphy thingy. feels gd to come back home to puke everything out. it's been a long day somehow..had lessons from 9 to 4. went clementi for some desserts b4 coming bacl.going macritche for a run first b4 carrying on with work at night. hey what do i have to accomplish tonite?

1. museum essay
2. familiarise with water science b4 the lengthy lectures again tmr

okie..moving on..yeah i really think macritichie is a nice place to run..esp along the side of the reservoirs..where u can just soak in the evening sun rays, while enjoying the scenic view of the orange sky-blue waters combination. smells of nature fill u up...and u can hear the crickets if you're lucky. best ==> many young jap babes seem to be running ard there too.haha (frm my past few experiences at least)

okie..trademark's only love caught me tdy.was in xiaohong going to clementi for a bite with the guys and class95 suddenly played it. what a soothing song..really love it. it's the kind of song u wanna hear when u're in a foamy bathtub and a cup of cocoa in ur hand, the day right after the exams.haha~

alrights..time to see some monkeys.

further updates on the rat race

the meanie rat - yes the one with the continuous twitching of whiskers, bloodshot eyes, sharp whiplash of a tail. sharp ratty teeth.
the 'i wanna chao geng rat'- big eyeful of innocence, a dawning sense of realisation of the kind of shit he is in.taking quick hurried confused steps.banging head-on against the wall occassionally.
deany rat- sharp, with a brain the exact size of its head. soaks in lectures like a sponge, swift in completing tutorials and lab reports.enjoys lurking ard the front of lecture halls.

yep..here you have- the participants of the hurried and dreary marathon.

(any resemblance here is purely coincidental)

like it or not, we are in it. Sem after sem, year after year...the chaotic mess of rat racing takes its toll on us. drains us dry.

yours truly ratty, the 'i wanna chao-geng rat', is def drained.haha..which is very fast actually. maybe it's the structural test looming up. which doesn't seem to appear dat tough conceptually but there r just too many symbols and all, which makes the notes hard to flow with. bah~

i've discovered some hot spots for studying near my place. really gd places. nice latin groove, nice temp, nice warm drinks, comfy chairs with gd lighting, and a power point for my lappie.

just had lunch wif my dad..mom coming back tonight, so i guess we'll have a family dinner tonight.

back to the books...*scurry*
p/s.i need to union square soon..distress

cheers

an accomplished day

Things I accomplished today *chest out, stomach in,determined glaze*
1)settled visa application at gasi
2)bought air tickets at speedwing
3)ate 5 large meals and still looking 4ward to the next 2

Things that i'm not proud of
1)dozing off during cpm lecture
2)bang seh-ing sandeep for cpm lab meeting cos we had to rush down town
3)forgetting how to spell ninety (nearly spelt it as ninty in a cheque)
4)having the old neighbour once again glare at me like i'm a crook when i said hi.

most pple say "hey i think i need to get a life". i think for me i shd be trying to lose it instead. the pressure cooker is on, and it's on big time. lab reports, tutorials, lectures, question marks - they're all floating ard constantly, seemingly mocking me "sucker..come get me if u can". thing is, i ain't getting them well. in fact, i'm doing a pretty bad job at it.

morale is def low tdy. i need a kick-start. i need some1 to kick my ass to get me going..moving hard and fast. pls help.

*ain't getting nowhere* n i really hate the feeling of it.

unconditional love

Unconditional Love

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a friend I'd like to bring home with me."
"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."
"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come live with us."
"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."
"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."
"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."
At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him, but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know, their son had only one arm and one leg.
The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we are.

Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, say a little prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and to help us all be more understanding of those who are different from us!!!

and lastly, whatever condition u r in or facing, be thankful for it. it could always be in worse, but thankfully u're not facing it. have this mindset..and life will rawk.

cheers

struck down,rise up,struck down again,rise up.whats new in life?

a thought lingering in my mind tdy is the nyp gal(tammy)incident. and NO the lingering thought is not where can i get the video and what r its details and all. i was just thinking how this young couple is going to rise above these odds someday and become stronger in the process.considering the kind of shit they r going thru now, i would think they both have def hit an all time low in their young lives.

ok have to proclaim this first : i do not encourage pmsex, and i have not done anything like what they did.

actually what struck me hard was not so much their indecent act at their tender ages. i'm aware this kind of thing goes ard everywhere...come on, don't try to deny we're living in the 21st century(check out the calender if u don't believe me) . rather it's more abt learning lessons in life.

some lessons we learn are easy..some can be easily forgotten. that is when we sigh in relief and move on with life. these stuff can be erased from ur memory.
some lessons (like this) can't. like it or not, it has left a permanent scar (which will fade wif time yes but how long) on these 2 youths. 2 youths who probably are in their 17s or 18s..just abt to embrace adulthood. we all make mistakes in our lives..and some mistakes just seem alot more serious than others, but we acknowledge the fact that all humans are bound to make mistakes. so u gotta rise up, and rise up strong during this tough time and move on. don't let this incident get u down for too long.

another incident in my memory was during my math lect when i was in y1. a guy from another fac came over to propose to a gal in my lect with flowers and all..a big badaboom, but def less intense than this nyp incident. his was more of a comical relief, in which pple simply thought this guy is really sweet but somewhat overly caught up in his emotions. no he wasn't condemned..and at this pt of time, the whole incident has died down. the video has prob stopped circulating as well.

isn't life abit cruel at times? some of the emotional turmoil some pple have to go thru 4 a silly mistake made in the air-headness of their youths can seem so permanent. some others get away wif it scott free. when pple make mistakes, the punishment for it comes in so many forms.

& in life, we can't evade making mistakes. all we can do is to accept this fact bravely, and move on strong, acknowledging that these kind of tough times don't last.tough pple do though.

won't it be nice if we get a second chance for every mistake we made?

the terror of clementi (a must read) & a trip to union square

*hobble hobble hobble* a rather filthy, ungroomed, fierce looking gal ard the age of 25!! hobbles over.

"ehhh duhhh..excuse me,duhh...ehhh...give me $2???(said in chinese)" she demanded in a loud threatening tone, her eyebrows nearly touching each other as she sneered, showing her sharp crooked yellow teeth. her chest heaving ferociously, both arms clenched. (i'm NOT exaggerating)

first instinct: panic.
course of action: tried to deviate from her
result: she put her face right in front of mine and it broke out into another sneer "KNN!(in hokkien)

dazed,i walked off to to board my train. this is 1 really rude beggar..even if some1 rejects giving her $, dats not the way to vent out her pent out frustrations. she's strong, definitely able to make a living, and from my pt of view, a big slacker.
anyway, for some weird reason or so, i got a flu after dat. km jokingly said she may have put a curse one me.i casually brushed it aside and laughed it off, but after some consideration, it got me thinking.lol~ she's a lethal terror.

shaggedddddd

1)cpm lecture to drain u dry
2)sea tutorial...a conducted debate which drained my team
3)water sci lect
4)union square

union square was something i more or less expected. a very carefree, social place. smiles all over the place, crowd is older. worse...what i'm abt to type has confirmed i have reached another milestone in my life.

i realised i feel more at home in union square than zouk

haha..yep.times have changed. i'm passing on the zouk podium to the new generation. time to move on to some cool latin groove. it's really quite cool..not 2 loud, a live band, cheap drinks, friendly crowd. had a few gd dances, and managed to practise some of my moves. feeling so tired now tho. haha

a fun day,definitely.

fri is here...*enbrace the weekends with open arms*
